No Kings Rally: Stepping Up & Showing Up

Today I stood shoulder to shoulder with my mom again at the No Kings rally, surrounded by neighbors who understand that our democracy only works when we show up.
Sixty years ago, her generation marched, organized, and demanded the rights many of us benefit from today. The right to vote. The right to be heard. The right to have a say in the direction of our country. Those rights were not handed over. They were fought for.
Being there together was a reminder that the work is not finished. Each generation is called to protect what was built and push it forward.
Showing up at a rally matters. But showing up at the ballot box matters even more.
The voices we raise today must be matched by the votes we cast tomorrow.
